The man behind the creations is Master Chef Pâtissier, Ilan Lipschitz - an internationally acclaimed Pastry Chef who has studied and worked in his profession throughout Europe. He came to South Africa to share his passion and introduce his creations to the Foodservice industry and played the leading role in starting and establishing the company. He has passed on these skills to create an experienced and talented group of previously disadvantaged men and women who sculpt these mouth-watering hand-crafted creations.
We provide employment for many people from the local community who are trained from scratch. Chateau Gateaux chooses to train staff in-house and teach them a new profession, which helps to uplift the local community.
Our state-of-the-art production facility boasts the latest in machinery, quality control, storage and hygiene systems. Along with our skilled team of Pastry Chefs and staff, this ensures we meet the growing local and international demand for our high-quality hand-crafted desserts.
An in-house R&D team is also constantly improving and developing new and exciting products to keep the range interesting, with a selection of products to suit your personal requirements. The product range is frequently refreshed with new concepts and taste sensations.
We also develop according to briefs from selected customers seeking specific customised solutions to their Dessert and Cake requirements.
